Feedback

This theme is used when there are references to the decay and possible rebirth of Gondor. If the Gondor theme represents Gondor as it is today, the purely military power, then this theme represents the Gondor of the past, the spiritual power — culture, learning, nobility.

Occurrences:

In Lorien, Boromir speaks to Gandalf of his father's waning power and his own wish to help him restore Gondor.
Gandalf and Pippin see the white tree in the courtyard in Minas Tirith.
Gandalf tells Pippin about the tree: "...the fading hope that one day the tree will flower."
Gandalf tells of the decay of Gondor; "And so the people of Gondor fell into ruin" [softly].
Sam sees the sunlight on the statue's head: "The old king's got a crown again" [subtle]
Elrond reveals the newly-forged Anduril [with Rivendell].
